2012 05 27 GEM SPOTLIGHT: Kirsty Mitchell's Wonderland series

THIS WAS FOUND ON http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2145760/Wonderland-Kirsty-Mitchell-heart-breakingly-beautiful-photographic-series-memory-extraordinary-life.html

ONE THING THAT CAUGHT MY EYE BEFORE THE VISUALS WAS THE HEADLINE OF: Woman, 36, who lost mother to brain cancer creates breathtaking fantasy land photo series in her memory.

ONE THING THAT I SUSPECTED THAT WOULD RELATED WOULD BE THE EMOTION BEARING FROM HER LOSS. AND HER PHOTOS TOUCHES ON THAT.

THE DREAMY COLORS AND MESMERIZING SHOTS WITH STRIKING COSTUMES LEAD ME TO DELICATELY LOOK OVER ALL THE DETAILS OF THE SHOTS.  I GUESS IT DOESN'T HURT THAT THIS PHOTOGRAPHER'S BACKGROUND IS IN FASHION AND COSTUME DESIGN AND ON TOP OF IT, HAS INTERNED AT ALEXANDER MCQUEEN'S DESIGN STUDIO.  I HAD NOT READ THAT SHE ONCE INTERNED AT ALEXANDER MCQUEEN'S STUDIO UNTIL AFTER VIEWING SOME OF THE PHOTOS AND CLOCKED MY HEAD WITH A "DUH!".  HENCE THE RELATED INFLUENCE AND DRAMATIC FEEL IN THE WARDROBE. THE BLURRED BACKGROUND AND THE EXTRA DREAMY SKIES LEAVES NOTHING BUT A FEEL OF WANDERING WONDERLAND THOUGHTS.

THESE ARE REALLY AWESOME SHOTS FOUND ON DAILYMAIL.CO.UK:
Danaus: A close-up of a model before a sunlit backdrop, peering through a veil of paper butterflies
The Storyteller: a reference to Kirsten's mother, a model on a carpet of bluebells enveloped by booksKirsty Mitchell has dedicated her Wonderland photographic series to the memory of her late mother, Maureen, who lost her life to a brain tumour in 2008
WATCHING THE VIDEO ON HER BLOG/DIARY, YOU SEE SO MUCH DETAIL AND EFFORT PLACED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER ALONE.  EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS HER OWN CREW, ITS A HUGE TASK COMBINED IN ONE.
