2012 08 10 YELPING: ALE HOUSE IN HUNTERS CREEK

OK SO I'VE NEVER REALLY BEEN A FAN OF THE ALE HOUSE, BUT LIKE GOING TO ALL PLACES ONCE IN A WHILE JUST IN CASE, BY CHANCE SOMETHING DIFFERENT COMES UP ON THE MENU THAT I ELECT TO TRY THAT TURNS OUT TO BE THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD.

DATE ON LOCATION :  8/10/12 6PM-ISH

(LOCATION) 13536 John Young Parkway Orlando, FL 32837
2 OF 5 STARS
((((((((((((((((SKIMMING SIZE AND TASTE))))))))))))))))))))))))
(SERVICE) = LIKE!
(FOOD) = AVERAGE/EXPECTED, YAWN AGAIN
UNLIKE BIG BROTHER, I SHOULD JUST EXPECT THE EXPECTED AND NOT BE TOO HOPEFUL AT TIMES SO THAT I COULD BE OVERLY ECSTATIC WITH JOY WHEN SOMETHING GREAT APPEARS.
HAD THE B-52 ($5.95) IN WHICH MY FRIEND SUGGESTED, AND I'M HITTING THE "LIKE" BUTTON IN THE AIR.  THE ONLY SLIGHT DISLIKE WAS THAT IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE SERVING SIZE OF THE SHOTS ARE GETTING SLIMMER COMPARED TO THE OLDER DAYS.
SCANNING THROUGH THE MENU FOR OVER 10 TIMES, I THINK  I NARROWED DOWN MY SELECTION BETWEEN THE SOUTHWEST BISTRO SALAD AND THE SEAFOOD MAC AND CHEESE.

LETS COMPARE:

SOUTHWEST BISTRO STEAK SALAD All Natural, Marinated, Thinly Sliced Beef over Fresh Greens with Monterey Jack & Cheddar Cheeses, Fire Roasted Red & Green Peppers, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Black Beans and Corn. Topped with Vinaigrette Dressing. $9.95
SEAFOOD MAC & CHEESE A Five Cheese Homemade Macaroni & Cheese with Pan Seared Shrimp, Scallops and Mushrooms. Topped with Scallions. Too Good to Be True! $11.99

I WENT WITH THE SOUTHWEST BISTRO STEAD SALAD BECAUSE I WAS CURIOUS WITH THE SAUCE ON THE PICTURE THAT WAS POSTED ON THE MENU WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE HORSERADISH SAUCE, AND THEIR VINAIGRETTE DRESSING TASTED LIKE BASIC ITALIAN DRESSING. OVERALL, IT WAS OKAY.  DECENT PORTION IN SIZE.

THE THIN FRIED ONIONS ON TOP WAS A AWESOME COMBINATION WITH THE BEEF AND GREENS.  I GUESS FOR ME, THE BEEF NEEDED SOMETHING BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE DRIED SIDE AND DIDN'T REALLY HAVE ANY TASTE IN IT, SO THE FRIED ONION STRIPS AND THE HORSERADISH SAUCE WITH THE ITALIAN SAUCE WITH IN THE GREENS GAVE IT A NUDGE IN TASTE AND TEXTURE.  I'M JUST NOT FALLING OVER THE SEAT OVER IT.
HAD A SIDE OF THE LOADED POTATOES FOR $1.95.
IT WAS LITERALLY A SCOOP SMALLER THAN MY FIST AND WAS SEMI WARM SLASH COLD.  THEY WERE NOT AS CREAMY AS THE ONES AT CHILLIS AND CHILLIS SELLS THEM FOR $1.79 AND YOU GET A PLATE FULL INSTEAD OF A DELICATE SCOOP FULL.
(JUST SAYING)
MY DEAR FRIEND NARROWED DOWN BETWEEN THE STEAK FAJITA AND THE CAJUN CHICKEN PASTA.
LETS COMPARE:
FAJITAS Served on a Sizzling Bed of Red & Green Peppers and Onions with Warm Flour Tortillas, Shredded Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Cheddar Cheese & Sour Cream. Add Guacamole 99¢
STEAK Choice Flat Iron Steak Cooked to Perfection and Smothered with Onions & Peppers.  $11.95
CAJUN CHICKEN PASTA Blackened Chicken, Mushrooms, Scallions & Tomatoes Tossed with Linguini in a Spicy Alfredo Sauce. $11.99
FRIEND SELECTED THE STEAK FAJITA WITH ADDED GUAC AND ADDED MUSHROOMS.

THE STEAK STRIPS WERE DRY FOR A WELL DONE.

PERHAPS WE BOTH SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH OUR 2ND ALTERNATIVE.

VEGGIES WERE NOT REALLY GRILLED TO PERFECTION.   AND VISUALLY I COUNTED A TOTAL OF 2 MUSHROOMS WITH THE EXTRA MUSHROOMS REQUEST.  LETS JUST SAY THAT THERE WERE 2 MORE EXTRA MUSHROOMS TUCKED UNDERNEATH THE PILE OF FOOD, IT WOULD HAVE MADE IT 25 CENTS PER SLICE OF MUSHROOM SINCE THEY CHARGED 75 CENTS FOR THE ADDED VEGGIES.
